Travel Diary: "Das Kaltenbach"

Also perfekt!

We´ve spend the easter holidays in Tyrol at the hotel called “Das Kaltenbach” (here). When we entered the doorway I knew this hotel will make it on my hotel hit-list (and you know I´ve seen many places). I instantly felt comfortable, surrounded by lots of wooden design elements and comfortable lights. The friendly owner, Mr. Haas, welcomed us and we´ve talked  a little bit about his wonderful  Hotel.

On our way to the room we passed the entrance hall. Dominant influence are the gold-, and the sandy-coloured elements so I´m really happy that I choosed so many grey, sand and beige clothes to take them with me:-) Scandinavian chic never get’s boring, does it? I loved how they arranged the lovely hotel rooms - puristic, valuable and cozy.  I just couldn’t hold myself back and jumped right into the bed – exhausted after a 4h car ride but happy finally being in Tyrol.

I wanna talk about the food as well. The breakfast was great – the hotel focuses on local/traditional dishes with a small modern twist, which is a delicious combination and definitely worth it. Last but not least I want to mention the fact that the ski-lift is about 500 meters away so you can walk if you want to! But I wouldn´t walk, remembering the worn out after a excessive skiing-session :-) Skiing is always wonderful, I love it!

My special highlights were the wonderful indoor / outdoor-pool, the excellent homemade breakfast- as you can see in the pictures-, the big SPA area with two finnish saunas, a infrared sauna and a steam bath, the gym with a fantastic view over the valley and the friendly staff who always tried to satisfy the guest’s need.

My stay was probably the most relaxing one I have ever had. I could leave all my cares behind and I had time to catch a breath.  My camera was almost always in the room and I only used it to take these pictures. :-)
